Step into the spotlight and unlock your inner actor!
In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll build a strong foundation in essential acting skills while rehearsing a one-act comedy. Learn to craft engaging characters, work on comedic timing, and project your voice with confidence.
Under the guidance of our experienced instructor/director, you will be challenged to grow every step of the way. The class culminates in a final presentation where you’ll share your work with an invited audience.
Perfect for anyone ready to explore their creativity, gain stage confidence, and have a great time doing it!

Steven Burge Bio:
Steven J. Burge is an award-winning, Colorado-based theater maker and educator. He has worked under Mandy Moore, in the Colorado premiere of The Wedding Singer the Musical; and performed as “God” in the Denver Center’s long-running production of An Act of God. Steven is also a playwright. His solo show Bats#!t was commissioned by American Stage Theater Co. in St. Petersburg, FL then further developed by Local Theater Co. in Boulder. His directorial work spans youth; college; community; and professional productions.

Step into the actor’s process in this engaging, hands-on course for adults of all experience levels. You’ll explore essential techniques through practical exercises that build confidence, authenticity, and creativity.
During the first 4 weeks of this 8-week class, students work on developing a monologue, making authentic choices that bring your piece to life. The last 4 weeks you’ll work on two-person scenes, focusing on listening, reacting, and collaboration. Together, we’ll explore character relationships and how moment-to-moment awareness brings stories to life.
Perfect for anyone looking to build confidence, stretch creatively, or experience the joy of storytelling.

Matthew Kepler Bio:
Matthew Kepler has worked professionally in theatre for over two decades as a performer, director, and stage manager. Beyond crafting productions on stage and off, he has been behind the casting table for hundreds of shows across the country—experience that gives him a unique, real-world perspective on the actor’s craft. Matthew brings a collaborative, practical approach to help performers find authentic, dynamic expression.
