Roald Dahl’s trademark dark wit comes to life in this family-friendly musical about a clever little girl with astonishing powers. Matilda Wormwood is unloved by her cruel parents, and sent to an oppressive school run by an even crueler headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Trunchbull makes Miss Hannigan look like a saint. She hates the children in her charge and gleefully punishes them in bizarre and wicked ways if ever they dare to disobey her oppressive rules. But during her first term at school, Matilda forges an unbreakable bond with her kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey. The two inspire each other to be courageous, to embrace their own power, and to build their own family.
